Cecelia Traver Obituary

Cecelia Pauline Traver Cecelia Pauline Traver went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 6, 2009 after a long illness. She was born on June 27, 1918 in Erie, PA to Paul and Margaret Michaels. She was raised in the Detroit, MI area graduating from Cass Tech High School and was very proud of her Lithuanian descent. Cecelia's first marriage to Ray Gabriel ended in divorce. She married William G. Traver on December 28, 1949 and with him moved to Battle Creek, MI in 1952. She loved playing the organ and was a member of the Organ Guild. In her younger years she played tennis, golf, and loved swimming in their pool. Ceil also enjoyed traveling and reading books, especially biographies. Her faith was also a very important part of her life and for many years she and her husband, Bill, held Bible Studies in their home on Wednesday evenings. Surviving Cecelia are her children: William (Susan) Traver of Marshall, Marilyn (Allen) Ferguson of Battle Creek, Gary (Karen) Gabriel of Kewadin, MI, Robert (Cheryl) Traver of Westland, MI, and Sandy (Roy) Vivian of Shelby Twp., MI; brothers: Albert Michaels of Detroit, MI, and Leonard Michaels of South Lyon, MI; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
