Patricia Graves Obituary

Patricia Graves Nashville Patricia Graves, age 86, of Nashville, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away February 20, 2009. Patricia was born April 30, 1922 in Athens, MI the daughter of Francis Joseph and Vera (Peabody) Kelley. She married Rodney Earle Graves and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2004 after 52 years of marriage. Patricia retired from the Air National Guard base as a secretary in 1973 after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Battle Creek, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Patricia and Rodney enjoyed camping together with the Rainbow Chasers Coachman Club, and working the mail room at the Balloon Fest. She also enjoyed nature, crafts, playing cards with the girls, and her family pets. Her greatest joy was her family. Patricia is survived by her children: Shirley (Richard) Gardner of Nashville, and Larry (Sally) Graves of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister: Dolly Rees; and her brother: Raymond Kelley. Besides her husband Rodney, Patricia was preceded in death by 2 sons: Rodney Allen Graves and Dennis Edgett; her daughter: Deanna Bongiorno; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Battle Creek with Fr. Brian Coleman officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Royal Funeral Home, Battle Creek and also again on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, Battle Creek. Memorials may be directed to the Fireman's Fund in Battle Creek in memory of Michael Dunn or to Hospice.

Dear Graves Family,
I am very sorry to hear of Pat's passing may she rest in peace she was a wonderful person she will be missed by all who knew her. I have very fond memories of her from the many years we lived next door.
