Elizabeth Koenig Obituary

Elizabeth Anne "Beth" Koenig Battle Creek Elizabeth Anne "Beth" Koenig, age 36, of Battle Creek, and formerly of Marshall, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at her home. Beth was born on February 27, 1972 in Battle Creek and was raised in the Marshall area by her adopted parents, Donald Phillip and Kay Dawn (Ulrich) Koenig. She was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1991. For the last several years, she had been employed at the Battle Creek Federal Center as a custodian. In her youth, she was very active in the 4-H clubs and the Swine Club. She had been a member of both the Bluebird and Camp Fire Girl Clubs. While in high school, Beth was a member of the F.F.A. and the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. She was an avid lover of animals and enjoyed the company of her two cats, Harley and Mia. Beth loved her nieces and nephews and was affectingly called "Aunt Bethie." She is survived by her mother, Kay (Doug) Mead of Marshall; father, Donald (Karen) Koenig of Amelia Island, Florida; sister, Kristen (David) Greenwood of Marshall; brothers, Michael (Kelley) Koenig of Marshall, Doug (Lori) Koenig of IL and Kevin (Todd Hokanson) Koenig of Marshall; and nephews and nieces, Garrett, Alex, Trevor, Taylor, Brady, Jake, Kyle and Corrie Edwards. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. Memorials are to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
