James Scott Obituary

James F. Scott Battle Creek James F. Scott, 88 of Battle Creek died Friday March 6, 2009 at home. He was born on January 1, 1921 in Owosso, MI to Francis and Anna (Burton) Scott. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1940 and attended Argubright Business College for two years. Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Betty Lou White in May of 1952 she preceded him in death in 1975. He then married Mary C. Marriott on October 7, 1978, she survives. Jim was employed at Post Cereals a Division of General Foods retiring in 1978. Also surviving are daughters, Gloria (Mike) McNamara, of Battle Creek and Sharon (Jim) Hazel, of Kent City, MI; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by sons, Philip and David Scott. Jim was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an avid baseball fan and a history buff. A private family service will be held at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Philip Catholic Church or BCACS.
