Mary Broughton Obituary

Mary Ann Broughton Battle Creek Mary Ann Broughton, 63, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born May 6, 1945, In Dayton, OH, the daughter of Arthur and Fannie Mae Pierce. Mary Ann was a graduate of Lakeview High School and had previously lived in California. She was previously employed by the Ft. Custer State Home and Dare Products. Mary Ann retired from General Motors in 1998 after 25½years of service. Mary Ann was an accomplished and avid bowler. She also enjoyed stamping and crafts and her pet birds and her dog "Dumpling". She was a member of American Legion #298. Mary Ann was previously married to Jim Beardsley. She married Mr. John W. Broughton on June 26, 1987 in Kellogg Forest. He survives her. She is also survived by her daughter, Sonya Beardsley of Battle Creek, and sons, Sean James Beardsley and James E. Beardsley both of Battle Creek. She also leaves her grandchildren Kimberly Rae Beardsley, Shaundell Porter, Labrisha Beardsley, James Broughton and Jenna Mae Beardsley. She was preceded by her parents and her sister Lucille Smith. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2009. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

i knew mary ann since i was about 5 yearsold. she was a very loving and caring person all the time i knew her. i wish i could have been home to see her more often
