Helen Pfiester Obituary

Helen Pfiester Grand Ledge Helen Pfiester, 91, of Grand Ledge and formerly of Bellevue, died March 9, 2009 at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing. She was born June 17, 1917, the daughter of Orrin and Bessie (Chapman) Kelsey in Osceola County. Helen married Charles Pfiester in 1940 and he died in 1976. She is survived by sons, Richard Pfiester of Grand Ledge, Jon (Nellie) Pfiester of Bellevue, Timothy (Lynn) Pfiester of Delton; daughter, Kathleen (Alfred) Dexter of Bellevue; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Kelsey of Hopkins and Lewis Kelsey of Plainwell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Closs and brothers, Donald, George, Carl and James Kelsey. Helen was a member of the Farm Bureau and a gray lady for many years at Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital. Family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. Graveside services will take place, 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2009 at Munger Cemetery, Eaton Rapids with Rev. Molly Turner officiating. Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. www.shawfuneralhome.com
