Mary Lewandowski Obituary

Mary Ann Lewandowski Battle Creek Mary Ann Lewandowski, age 94, of Battle Creek died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Battle Creek Health System. Mary was born on February 9, 1915, in Battle Creek, the daughter of John and Antonina (Janielewicz) Fifer. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Philip and Battle Creek Central High School. She had been employed at Postumville Hamburg Shop. On June 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Clement J. Lewandowski who preceded her in death on January 27, 2005. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, DAV and the PNA # 2416. She enjoyed good cooking, crocheting, gardening and was a good mother to all. Surviving are a daughter, Constance L. "Connie Lu" Lewandowski of Battle Creek; sister, Stephanie "Stell" Burrill and brother, Leon (Janet) Fifer both of Battle Creek; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Fifer. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Paul Fifer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Charles H. Fischer officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Philip Catholic Church, St. Philip Catholic Church Music Department or a Charity of One's Choice.
