Robert Ashley Obituary

Robert F. Ashley Wildwood, Fl Robert F. Ashley, 83, of Wildwood, Fl and formerly Battle Creek went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2009. Robert was born March 12, 1926 to the late Everett and Celia Ashley in Battle Creek. Robert was married to Rosemary Marriott in 1948, graduating from Battle Creek Central in 1944 and serving as a signalman in the US Navy from 1944-1946. He furthered is education graduating from Western Michigan University in 1950. He worked for Clark Equipment Co. in both the Battle Creek and Buchanan offices and retired 1982, and moved south shortly thereafter. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Leesburg where he served in many capacities over the last 25 years. He is survived by Rose, his wife of 60 years; daughter, Nancy (Garry) Hall-Myrick of Battle Creek; sons, Jeffery (Debra) Ashley of Wildwood, Fl and Thomas (Darci)Ashley of Placerville, CA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Klimmer and her sons. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial service will be on Thursday March 19, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Lone Oak Dr. Leesburg Fl. 34749. Memorials may be sent to the church.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I will never forget all the great times we had when we were kids and grammi and pops would come and visit, I was always sure to be over staying with nikki so i could spend time with you guys. I am sorry I wasn't able to spend more time with him when I was down in florida last. I hope to see you all sometime this year maybe. Love you all.

Rose, It's been years since we were at your home in Wildwood. You may recall when we presented Dick Kline with his Army medals (I am the General) and afterward we came to your home for a "get-together." With that introduction out of the way; I remember Bob very well from his days at Clark and always had a great respect for him because he was always a gentleman of the highest order.
