Lester Peugh Obituary

Lester James Peugh, Jr. Bellevue Lester James "Big Jim" Peugh, Jr., age 52, of Bellevue, MI, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. He was born October 14, 1956 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Lester J. Peugh, Sr. and Doris Joanne (Wilhelms) Peugh. Jim had worked as a quality technician at Rock Tenn (paper manufacturing) for 26 years and was also a bouncer at the Rendezvous Bar for several years. Previously he worked construction pouring walls. Jim married the former Donna Lee Holton on January 7, 1982 in Battle Creek, MI. Big Jim is survived by his loving wife: Donna Lee Peugh of Bellevue; his father and stepmother: Lester J., Sr. and Nancy Peugh of Manton, MI; three daughters: Sonya L. and John Gasper of New Boston, MI, Leslie J. Peugh and Brandunn Bailey and Nikki M. and Sean Pritt, both of Battle Creek; one son: Matthew and Nicole Eib of Delton, MI; four grandchildren: Zachery Eib, Jordan Eib, Breanna Gasper and Van Gasper; one sister: Teresa J. Fletcher of Shelbyville, TN; and two nephews: Clay and Sherry Fletcher, Jr. of Battle Creek and James and Holly Fletcher of Shelbyville, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris, a brother in infancy, and brother-in-law: Clay Fletcher, Sr. Lester received his education from Battle Creek Central, receiving his GED in 1984. He moved with his family from Battle Creek to Bellevue in 1996. He enjoyed deer hunting, going fishing, riding his Harley Davidson whenever he could, enjoyed watching movies, and looked forward to the family picnics, bonfires, and being with the whole family. He was a big tease chasing the youngsters and tossing them in the pool. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service after 5 p.m. Saturday, where the family will be present on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday after 12 noon, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services commemorating the Life of Jim Peugh will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steven S. Olmstead officiating. Burial will follow at the Assyria Cemetery in Barry County. Memorial tributes may be made to Humane Society or National Wildlife Federation.
