Samuel J. Combs

Samuel J. Combs Battle Creek Samuel J. Combs, 24, of Battle Creek, MI, and formerly of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Bronson Hospital, in Kalamazoo, MI. Sam was born February 3, 1985, in Chattanooga, TN the son of James and Theresa (Swanson) Combs. He came to Battle Creek in 2005 from Tennessee. Sam was a graduate of Hixson High School in Chattanooga. He enjoyed his computer, auto racing, music, and was a participant in Habitat for Humanity programs. He also enjoyed his cat "Simba." Sam is survived by his mother, Theresa Combs of Battle Creek and his father, James (Marlene) Combs of Chattanooga, TN. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Ethel Swanson, paternal grandmother Mabel Combs, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Swanson, paternal grandfather Raymond Combs, his brother, James Combs, and sister Kimberly Combs. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Royal Funeral Home, Battle Creek. Memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
