Marie Vaughn Obituary

Marie Carnell Vaughn Seneca, SC Marie Carnell Vaughn, age 74, of 2446 Sugar Valley Road, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Oconee Medical Center. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 11, 1934, Mrs. Vaughn was the wife of Jerry L. Vaughn of Seneca and the daughter of the late Herbert Amos Carnell and Olive Grace Corkins Carnell. She was a civil service employee of the United States Government with over 26 years of service when she retired in June 1994. At the time of her retirement, she was working in the Social Security office in Anderson, SC. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rick L. Vaughn of Belmont, Michigan; her step-sons, Jerry L. "Buddy" Vaughn, Jr., of Anderson and Brian Keith Vaughn of Brunswick, GA; her brother, Herbert F. Carnell of Seneca; and her sister, Betty C. Wood of Battle Creek, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven E. Vaughn; sister, Bernice May Carnell. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dr. Tony Smith. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial park in Anderson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. The family will be at the residence.
