Darwin Patterson Obituary

Darwin Lee "Elwood" Patterson Battle Creek Darwin Lee "Elwood" Patterson, 52, of Battle Creek, died April 26, 2009 at his home after a long battle with diabetes. He was born on August 23, 1956 to Hobert (Pat) and Betty (Corbin) Patterson in Battle Creek MI. He was a member of the Harper Creek High School graduating class of 1974. He was united in marriage to Brenda Whited at First Wesleyan Church on October 16, 1979. He worked for the Battle Creek Country Club at the age of 11 as a caddie and for Brenner Market, Century Store, Jackie's Pizza and then attended a trade school and became a licensed electrician and was a member of IBEW Local Union 445. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, family reunions and friends. He was a very proud father and a loving son. He is survived by his loving mother, Betty of Battle Creek; children, Sarah and Dustin Patterson; sister, Deborah Evans and brother-in-law, Bill Evans; three nieces, Amanda, Allison and Andrea Evans; one nephew, Michael Evans; and many other relatives and numerous good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert (Pat) Patterson, an infant nephew, Andrew Evans, eight uncles and 5 aunts. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m until the time of service at Life in Christ Ministries. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Life in Christ Ministries with Rev. Dr. Danny L. Martineau officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
