Margaret Wilk Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" M. Wilk Battle Creek Margaret "Peggy" M. Wilk, age 89, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Battle Creek Health System. Margaret was born on February 23, 1920, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Otto and Helen (Taylor)Wine. She had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was married to her first husband George Cipcic for 12 years, then she married Chester "Chet" Wilk on October 30, 1954, he survives. She worked as a waitress at Roma Café for many years and then with Bill Knapp's as a waitress then hostess for 25 years. She was a member of the Polish National Alliance (PNA) for over 50 years. Margaret enjoyed fishing, crocheting, bowling and playing cards. Surviving are a daughter, Carol A. (Alex) Machaskee of Cleveland, OH; sons, James A. (Nancy) Cipcic of Battle Creek and Richard A. (Georgia) Cipcic of Walhala; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Monaweck, Dorothy Banks and Grace Millard. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Zuhl officiating. Entombment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
