Anna Sartor Obituary

Anna Marie Sartor Battle Creek Anna Marie Sartor, 87 of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born March 1, 1922 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Martin and Mary (Ozanich) Jereck. Anna was a 1940 graduate of St. Philip High School and worked for 43 years in the packing department at the Kellogg Company before retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church where she was active in C.C.W., Croatian Fraternal Union, Club Italia, AARP and the Kellogg 25 Year Club. On May 14, 1949 she was united in marriage to Louis "Babe" Sartor who preceded her in death on March 12, 2000. Anna was also preceded in death by her daughter: Kathleen Caulley in 1988 and sister: Tillie Jereck in 2008. Surviving are her son: Michael Sartor of Battle Creek; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister: Helen (Luther) Bilson of Battle Creek; and brother: John (Judy) Jereck of Battle Creek. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Charles H. Fischer officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Philip Memorial Fund, Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools Foundation or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.

Dear Mike & Family,
I was deeply sadden to learn about your loss. I had a card out to send to your mother yesterday since I had just learned she fell at home.
Every visit I made back to Battle Creek, I made contact with Anna.
I loved to share Croatian music with Anna and see the smile on her face when she was listening to the tunes.
Anna was a great cook and loved making several of my mother's recipies.
I pray that the good memories will help you get through such a difficult time.

Dear Sartor Family,
I am so deeply sadden to learn of your loss. Anna was a wonderful neighbor and friend to my parents, Pearl & Jim Barlow. Anna and Mother enjoyed numerous conversations over the years, the majority of which included tons of joy and laughter. Her thoughtfulness and good nature will be missed. Michael, John, and Angela and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Anna's passing. Since Kathy and I were best friends, I have many memories of Anna and spent countless hours at Clinton Drive. Anna was a great cook and I still make some of the recipes she shared with me. We kept in touch yearly for an update on the family and I will miss that. I know you have great memories to help you through this difficult time. She truly was a wonderful lady.
