Marjorie Crowe Obituary

Marjorie "Marge" V. Crowe Battle Creek Marjorie "Marge" V. Crowe, age 94, of Battle Creek died at her home Wednesday May 27, 2009. Marge was born on May 17, 1915 in Kalamazoo to Harold J. and Edith (Garrison) Stephens. Marge graduated from Comstock High School in 1933 and attended Western Michigan (College) University. While in college she was united in marriage to Frederic J. Armentrout. That marriage ended in divorce. She married Omer H. Crowe on November 18, 1941. He preceded her in death. Marge managed the So-Wel Credit Union and General Motors Credit Union in Kalamazoo before leaving to work in the office at the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek. Upon retirement she was very active volunteering for the American Red Cross and preparing taxes for low income and senior citizens. She was a member of the United Commercial Travelers, Women of the Moose, and Columbia Rebeckah #297. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Bishop; grandson Thomas Bishop; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four half sisters and her granddaughter, Belinda Sears, M.D. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. Entombment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements are by the Richard A. Henry Funeral home.

The folks at Red Cross send our sincere sympathy on the passing of our friend Marge. She was so full of life and energy! We will miss her. It was great to have her as one of our volunteers.

Joyce, I met you and Rose briefly a couple of weeks ago at Lifespan while my dad Bob was there. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to you or thank you and Rose for your visits. My prayers are with you and your family. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy having her grandmother again.
