Brian Williams Obituary

Brian G Williams Athens Brian G Williams, passed away on May 28, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. He had been ill since April 12th of this year. Brian was born on October 11, 1936 in Battle Creek to Elgin and Marian (Culp) Williams. He graduated from Athens High School in 1955. He worked on Mt Hood in Oregon for the US Forestry Service his first summer out of High School. He worked for Clark Equipment in Battle Creek for 31 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement he drove school bus for Athens Schools and also worked as a seasonal employee for the Village of Athens. He was a volunteer fireman for about 30 years. He loved deer hunting and fishing. For several years he enjoyed riding motorcycles on the trails in the Baldwin area with family and friends. As a child he enjoyed vacationing with his Grandpa and Grandma Williams in the Kalkaska area. He also vacationed with his parents and family in the Au Sable River area. Brian always loved the northern part of Michigan. He was married to Jeanne Snook in 1958. That marriage ended in divorce. He married Nancy White in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Douglas Williams of Plant City, FL, Michael (Renee) Williams of Tucson, AZ, daughter Denise (Kevin) King of Mendon, MI and son Wayne (Maria) White of Mendon, MI; brother, Patrick (Debi) Williams of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Ilene (Jerry) Milbourne of Union City and Janice (David) Knapp of Olivet; grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Williams and Isiah and Blaec Arevalo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Spencer Family Funeral Home, Athens. Funeral services Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 at 1:30 at the funeral home with Pastor David Mackaluso officiating. Burial will be in Mendon at the Mendon Cemetery.
