Helen Heaton Obituary

Helen Nora Heaton Marshall Helen Nora Heaton, age 85, of Marshall, formerly of Homer passed away May 29, 2009 at Maplewood Assisted Living in Marshall. She was born April 14, 1924 in Jackson County to Chauncey C. and Mabel Belle (Williams) Allen. She was married June 28, 1947 in Concord to Fred D. Heaton and he preceded her in death March 28, 1995. She was a Registered Nurse at Sheldon Memorial Hospital, Albion Community and Trillium Hospital and was Head Nurse in the Medical- Surgical Unit for 22 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, Homer United Methodist Church, A Life member of the Eastern Star and the Homer Carrick-Jarosz V.F.W Post # 9411 Auxillary; Marshall Moose Lodge and was a former 4-H leader. She is survived by 2 daughters Ann (Burdette) Green of Homer and Linda (Bob) Densmore of Bellevue; 2 sons Fred A. (Jan) Heaton and Bruce (Sue) Heaton both of Homer; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Beverly; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at the Homer United Methodist Church, 101 East Adams St., Homer, with Rev. Tom Fox officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Assistance with Memorial Contributions to the Homer United Methodist Church or the Homer V.F.W. Carrick-Jarosz Post # 9411 Auxillary is available at the funeral home. Arrangements by the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion. www.kevintiddfuneralhome.com

Nora will be missed, she was a loving lady that was full of stories. Always happy, even happier around happy people. Numerous occasions she would welcome me with "I'm so glad I get to see you today, you are always smiling". Keeping the family in my heart.
