Geraldine Swan Obituary

Geraldine R. Swan Battle Creek Geraldine R. Swan, 103, passed away Monday June 8, 2009 at Moore's Assisted Living. She was born on January 11, 1906 in Sherwood Twp. to Elliott and Emma (Jones) Carswell. Geraldine graduated from Union City High School in 1924. She married Maurice Swan on April 7, 1926 in Union City, he preceded her in death in 1961. Geraldine had sold Watkins Products in the area for many years. She is survived by sons, Maurice L. Swan Jr., of Battle Creek and Lawrence F. Swan, of Sebring, FL; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Swan, two sisters, Janice Rogers and Irene Woodliff. Geraldine attended Level Park Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 13, 2009 with Rev. Douglas Swan officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice.
