Arlene M. "Grandma" Marzic

Arlene M. "Grandma" Marzic Albion Arlene M. "Grandma" Marzic, age 89, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at Best Care Plus Living in Marshall, Michigan. She was born June 18, 1919 to John and Marie (Piepkow) Schmidt in Clarence Township, Michigan. On May 29, 1941 she married Frank J. Marzic in Albion, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1985. Arlene was a life resident of the Albion area and had been employed at Service Caster during WWII. She was a Homemaker and she was very active at the Albion Senior Center, doing community volunteer work and various charities. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Albion and its Altar Society. She loved to travel to Disney World. She is survived by a daughter Marilyn (Mark) Lyons of Door, MI; granddaughter Sara Marie Nowlin of Homer; a sister Evelyn Harris of Albion; sister-in-law Odessa Schmidt of Springport; brother-in-law John (Maxine) Marzic of Albion. Besides her husband, she was preceded by 2 brothers Edward and Arthur Schmidt and Sister Rose Luedtke. According to her wishes Cremation has taken place and their will be no Visitation. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Albion Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Michael Glockner, C.S.C officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the J.
