David R. Gustafson

David R. Gustafson Battle Creek David Russell Gustafson, 59, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly at home Sunday, June 21, 2009. He was born in Battle Creek on January 12, 1950 to Cecelia (Stora) Shive and Harry Gustafson who preceded him. He was fondly known as "Full-Service Dave" by the many customers he served at Main Street Marathon. He is survived by his son, David (Mandy) Gustafson, and granddaughter, Morgan Marie; his sisters, Sue (Jim) Bedard, Diane Gustafson; and his brother-in-law John Hagan; as well as his nieces, Theresa (Mark Harris) Mobley, Dena Caldwell, Alicia Way; nephews, Tony (Cristy) Hagan, Steve (Diana) Mobley, Kenneth Mobley, and Dion Caldwell; and many grand nieces and nephews. He is especially missed by his fiancé, Susan, and her children, Daniel and Ariel Lonchar. Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Hagan, on July 9, 2007. He loved fishing with his nephews, painting, nature, and his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home, to help defray the funeral expenses. A Memorial Service will be held at Royal Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. to mourn his passing and celebrate how blessed we are that he touched our lives.
