Anne Russell Obituary

Anne J. Russell Battle Creek Anne J. Russell, age 84, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her residence. Anne was born on November 8, 1924 in Battle Creek the daughter of John and Anna (Dymtrka) Koltonowski. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Battle Creek Public Schools, Post Schools and Southeastern Junior High. On January 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Vincent J. Russell who preceded her in death. She retired from Eaton Corporation after 41 years of service. Anne was a former member of St. Philip Catholic Church and a 70 year member of the PNA. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, bowling and going to casinos. Surviving are children, Michael (Angela) Russell of Battle Creek and Janet (Larry) Piner of St. Joseph, MI; grandchildren, Melissa (Blake) Shaw, Megan and Kelly Russell; sister, Helen Mietelka of Jackson; her special pet "Toby". Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Charles H. Fischer officiating. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society or a Charity of Choice
