Delaine Cummins Obituary

Delaine J. (Miller) Cummins Tekonsha Delaine J. (Miller) Cummins, 72, of Tekonsha, passed away July 1, 2009 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. She was born November 24, 1936 in Battle Creek to Wilbur Gordon and Dorothy (Finney) Miller. She grew up in the Union City area and moved to Tekonsha in 1973. She married Calvin L. Cummins on March 28, 1981 in Tekonsha. Delaine had been a Day Care provider and Foster Care provider for many years. She is survived by her husband, Calvin; two daughters, Becky (Mark) Omo of Coldwater, Kelly Cummins of Tekonsha; a son, David (Ida) Goldey of Union City; six grandchildren, Derick Goldey, Dustin (Katie) Omo, Joshua (Amanda) Omo, Chad Goldey, Ben Brown, Jacob Brown; 2 great-grandsons, Gavin and Logan Omo; 2 great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Hayden Omo; and special friend, Anne Axford of Coldwater. She was preceded in death by her parents. Delaine enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Williams County Foster Parents Association. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Putnam's of Tekonsha. Services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Putnam's of Tekonsha with Rev. Barbara Pryor officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family.
