Gonzalo Bello Obituary

Gonzalo Anthony "Tony" Bello Battle Creek Gonzalo Anthony "Tony" Bello, age 80, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his home. He was born October 27, 1928 in New York, New York the son of Manuel and Mercedes Bello. Tony was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as a lector and in music ministry for the Hispanic masses. He was also a Eucharistic Minister. In 2001 he was awarded the George Award for his role in translating for the Hispanic community. On April 14, 1951 Tony was married to Blasina (Arroyo) in New York City, who survives. Also surviving are five children: Teresa Bello of Battle Creek, Rafael Bello of Chicago, Cecilia (David) Krajewski of Battle Creek, Paul Bello of California and David Bello; ten grandchildren: Emily Genevieve, Clarissa, Gregory and Nicole of Battle Creek, Karina and Javier, Noah, Olivia, Joshua and Miguel; three great-grandchildren; sister: Mary Bottini; brother: Manuel Bello; special niece: Yolanda Bongondy as well as other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Margot Alvareztorres and Graciela Bello. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary service to be held at 5:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
