William Good Obituary

William A. "Bill" Good Marshall William A. "Bill" Good, age 86, of Marshall passed away at Best Care Plus Living Center West on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Mr. Good was born on June 18, 1923 to Alva A and Pearl (Cook) Good. William's mother died when he was a child, so his Aunt Zuma Good, lovingly raised him. On November 24, 1943, he married the former Dorothy J. Gross in Marshall. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1996. During WWII, he served in the United States Army. He had been employed for 41 years by the Kellogg Company, retiring in 1988. He also farmed the majority of his life and was a pioneer of No-Till farming practices. He owned and operated the Good's Sales and Service, selling farm equipment, lawn tractors and light industrial line of implements. Other employment includes the Marshall Creamery. William was a fifty year member of the Fredonia Grange and was a charter member of the Fredonia Township Fire Department. He served the community as a Fredonia Township Trustee for many years. He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Jim) Drumhiller of Tekonsha and Penny (David) Good-Hibbard of Marshall; son, Donald (Becky) Good of Marshall; grandchildren, Nancy (Brent) Yager, Lynnette (Ron) Kiessling, Ronald (Elle) Warsop, Penny Dangerfield, Michael (Rachel) Good and Adam (Tiffany) Good; numerous great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Gross and sister-in-law, Mary Anderson; and special friend, Maxine Mains. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kearstin L. Good. Visitation will be on Monday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the Fredonia Grange.
