Margaret Long Obituary

Margaret Louise Long Battle Creek Margaret Louise Long, 78, died at Battle Creek Health System on Saturday, July 18, 2009. She was born September 28, 1930, in Livingston, TN, to James R. and L. Verdon (Stout) Copeland. Margaret came to Battle Creek in 1949, from Tennessee. She retired from the Reclaim Department at the Kellogg Company in 1991, after 30 years. Margaret married Harry C. Long in Battle Creek on April 16, 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry on January 22, 2005; and by three brothers, Glen, James and Bobby Copeland. Surviving are sisters, Burnease (Earl) Hargis of Crossville, TN, Betty Ogletree of Cookville, TN, Joyce (Clark) Shaffer of Battle Creek, MI, Marva Chambers of Lansing, MI; brothers, Thomas (Ellen) Copeland of Scotts, MI, RV (Janie) Copeland of Hamilton, IN; sisters-in-laws, Martha Copeland-Shay of Schoolcraft, MI, Betty Copeland of Fairborn, OH and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Margaret was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. She loved the Lord and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking and gardening. She formerly decorated cakes for weddings and birthdays. Margaret's family will receive friends 12:00 noon 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Margaret's life will be held at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Inasmuch House or The Haven. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

Sorry to hear that Margaret passed away. My sister Lois Worthington told me she was in the nursing home.
She was such a nice person and a good employee at Kelloggs.She was very pleasant to everyone.
