William Zinke Obituary

William Carl Zinke William Carl Zinke, born October 29, 1926, to Otto and Mamie Zinke, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2009. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Sigrid Maria (Boeck) whom he married on June 18, 1949 in Germany while serving his country with the U.S. Army. William was a World War II veteran serving his country from 1944 until retiring in 1968 and then retired from the Federal Center in Battle Creek. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The one thing his grandchildren remember is Grandpa giving them the Susan B. Anthony dollars as very young children. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Michigan State fan. His sons, Robert, William, Alan (Rita), Bruce (Judy), James, and John will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda and Dora, both of Wisconsin, brothers, Sid, Otto Jr., and John of Wisconsin, and Roger of Illinois. He had 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. William was predeceased by his wife; both of his parents; a brother, Ed Zinke; 2 infant siblings; a sister-in-law, Darlene Zinke; a grandson, William Zinke; and a great-grandson, Troy Alan. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Royal Funeral Home.
