Sally Hillabrant Marshall Sally Hillabrant, age 93, died on Friday night, July 17, 2009 while at her home in the love and care of her husband. Sally was born on June 28, 1916 in Portland, Indiana to John and Sarah (Emmons) Green. She attended school in Indiana and graduated from high school there. She attended the Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana from where she earned her Registered Nurse degree. She moved to Albion and worked at Starr Commonwealth. She then became the nurse at Dr. Ralph Cram's office in Albion. Sally was married on September 22, 1965 in Angola, IN to Charles F. "Charlie" Hillabrant. The couple made their home in Marshall. Sally and Charlie owned and operated Hillabrant's Furniture on W. Michigan Avenue starting in 1974. They were a familiar and welcome sight in the store together where they furnished the community with quality goods and service until they retired in 1997. Sally enjoyed gardening with Charlie at their home. She also loved her (and Charlie's!) dogs! Sally liked cooking. She is survived by her husband Charles; 2 sisters Bea Fisher of Fortville, IN and Pat Green of Muncie, IN; her nephews Phil Fisher and Bill Fisher, and niece Judy Manship. She was preceded in death by a brother John Green when he was 13 years old. Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Monday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. where family will be present to greet friends and share memories 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8p.m. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at Kempf Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Donna Tribby of Oaklawn Hospice officiating.
