Carolyn Chambers "Susie" White

Carolyn "Susie" Chambers White Battle Creek Carolyn "Susie" Chambers White, age 80, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Battle Creek Health System. Carolyn was born on June 5, 1929, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Carl J. and Lenore (McCurdy) Ure, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1947. She was married to Myrlyn Chambers on June 22, 1947, he preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Jerold E. White on August 25, 1973, he survives. Susie was employed as a dental receptionist for Dr. Robert Baker for 35 years. She attended Lakeview Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary #298. She enjoyed crafts, horses, flowers, watching the Cooking Channel and was an avid animal lover. Surviving are children, Rebecca (Jerry) Bellinger of Battle Creek, Jim (Sydonie) White of Comstock, MI, Randy White of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Chris (Christine) Bellinger, Matt(Suzann) Bellinger, Brianna (Mark) Snee, Alicia White, Tony(Margie) White, Steve(Megan) White and Amy White; great grandchildren, Jaidyn, Jaxx, Madelyn and Dylan Bellinger, Bella and Kina White; brothers, Carl (Roxie) Ure of Battle Creek, Jerry (Linda) Ure of Mears, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Sandy Hewitt. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
