LeRoy "Jim" Magnuson

LeRoy "Jim" Magnuson Kalamazoo Passed away suddenly, Thursday, July 23, 2009. Jim was born July 18, 1953 in Grand Haven, a son of LeRoy James and Carol L. (Baughn) Magnuson and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years. Jim graduated from Lakeview High School in 1971 and was employed by AMF Harpo's Lanes for 30 years. He loved playing golf, fishing and was a handyman who could fix anything. On November 29, 1996, Jim married Wendy Weidemann, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Meredith (Michael) Allen of Gainesboro, TN and Blake (Angela) Magnuson of Sparta, TN; a step-daughter, Lindsey Martin of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Tyler Andrew Magnuson, Hunter Graham and Colby Lowery; his mother, Carol Magnuson of Flint; two sisters, Lucinda (Terence) Henry of Flint and Jacquelyn (Thomas) Hendricks of Port Orchard, WA; a brother, Brian (Jill) Magnuson of Battle Creek, MI; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Edwin A. Martin officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
