Mildred Jones Obituary

Mildred "Maxine" Jones Battle Creek Mildred "Maxine" Jones, 88, died Monday July 27, 2009 at Tendercare of Hastings. She was born on February 18, 1921, in Battle Creek to Rolla and Della Grace (Irish) Gladstone. She had been a lifelong resident of the Battle Creek area. She first married Alfred Mennell, he preceded her in death on June 6, 1950. She then married Clarence B. Jones on January 15, 1954, in Indiana, he preceded her in death on February 11, 1998. She was employed with Westin Biscuit for 10 years then stayed home to raise her family. Surviving are sons, Ronald K. Mennell of Hastings and Warren G. Jones of Plymouth; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Vernice Okeneske of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ione Hess and a brother, Jack Gladstone. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday July 31, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements are by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
