Louise Patton Obituary

Louise Mae Patton Swartz Creek Louise Mae Patton - age 96, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Memorial Health Care in Owosso. Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Battle Creek Memorial Park, 2435 Territorial Rd W, Battle Creek, MI with Rev. Kay Adair officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Mundy Presbyterian Church Flower Fund, 3506 Grand Blanc Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Mrs. Patton was born March 8, 1913 in Daingerfield, TX, the daughter of William A. and Florence R. (Hyland) Gorham. She married Edward A. Baechler in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Ezra C. Patton in 1972 in Birmingham, AL and he preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Patton retired from National Biscuit Co. (Kraft Foods) in 1972 as a bookkeeper. She lived in Swartz Creek the past 10 years coming from Mobile, AL. Mrs. Patton was a member of Mundy Presbyterian Church, A.B.W.A., the Swartz Creek Historical Society and the Swartz Creek Lions Club. Surviving are: daughter, Katie (Gene) Cronin of Swartz Creek; daughter-in-law, Laura Patton of Mobile, AL; five grandchildren, Jason (Connie) Vore of Indianapolis, IN, Gene (Brandy) Cronin of Sturgis, Kristen (Grant) Clark of Presque Isle, ME, Laura Cronin of Presque Isle, ME, Beth (Bo) Stacey of Mobile, AL; four great-grandchildren, Jon, Jacey, Mallory and Schuyler. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

My memories of Louise at Mundy Church, was sitting near her and listening to her beautiful voice singing hymns. In talking to her, she seemed to always be upbeat, and carefree. May God richly bless her, and may he comfort the family in this time of sorrow in the loss of a loved one.
