Harry Junior King

Harry Junior King Battle Creek Harry Junior King, age 86, formerly of Eckford Township died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at his home. Junior was born on May 2, 1923 in Parma, Michigan to Harry John and Lena (Lincoln) King. He was a graduate of Washington Gardner High School in Albion, class of 1941. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy, serving with the Seabees 501. He had been employed by the old Calhoun Stamping Company in Marshall as the Manager. He also engaged in Farming in Eckford Township. A marriage to Evelyn L. Carney ended in divorce. In 1968, he married the former Marilyn J. Visel Prescott in Marshall. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2006. He is survived by a son, Richard "Rick" A. (Kathy) King of Detroit; daughters, Susan (Robert) Elliott of Schererville, IN and Debby Rae (John) Forsyth of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Michael King, Steven King, Robert Elliott Jr., Brian Elliott, Shannon Elliott, Warren Watkins and Danna Watkins; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Verna Joyce Maksimchuk of Homer and Erna L. Murray of Marshall. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell King and a step-son, Marvin Mike Prescott. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the East Eckford Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
