Laverne Lopshire Obituary

Laverne E. Lopshire Springfield Laverne E. Lopshire, 84, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Battle Creek Health System. He was born May 27, 1925 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Otto and Daisy (Burwell) Lopshire. He married Dorothy E. Kuempel on July 23, 1988 in Springfield. Laverne served in the Navy during World War II and he was a security guard for Meijer's. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy E. Lopshire; children, John (Marletta) Lopshire of Knoxville, TN, Sharon (Eddie) Swift of Sevilleville, TN; brother, Lester (Dolly) Lopshire; sister, Doris (Richard) Palmer; many grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Ralph Cates officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
