Bobby Norris Obituary

Bobby A. "Bob" Norris Battle Creek Bobby A. "Bob" Norris, 73, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at his home surround by his family. He was born January 9, 1936 in Lynch, Kentucky the son of Frank and Maggie Lou (Farmer) Norris and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1954. He worked for Community Hospital as a painter and maintenance supervisor for over 20 years, had been self-employed the last 15 years and worked part-time for Darrell Burke Construction. Bob is survived by his daughter, Lisa Freeman of Battle Creek; two sons, Jim Norris of Otsego, and Steve Norris of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Felter, Marilyn (Dave) Shriver; two brothers, Johnny (Susan) Suggs and Jack (Marji) Suggs. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Lou Norris, a brother Billy R. Norris and his parents. Bob managed and coached the Community Hospital and Barney's Glass softball teams, enjoyed bowling at Nottke's and golfing. At the request of the family, friends may call at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2009 with Pastor Larry T. Messer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Lifespan Hospice and West Michigan Cancer Society. Personal remembrances may be made at "www.farleyestesdowdle.com"
