Barbara Felter Obituary

Barbara Ann Felter Battle Creek Barbara Ann Felter, 70, passed away with her family at her side, at Battle Creek Health System, on Monday, September 28, 2009. Barb was born in Lynch, KY to Frank and Maggie Lou (Farmer) Norris on April 3, 1939. She moved from Tennessee to Battle Creek as a child and attended Battle Creek Public Schools. Barbara was employed by Community Hospital, Raymond Road Grocery and McDonald's. Barbara married William N. Felter, Jr. in Battle Creek on July 17, 1955. Surviving are Bill, her husband of 54 years; two sons, Terry (Ronette) Felter and Doug (Sherri) Felter, both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Tera (Joe) Wilson, Jennie Hepler, William Felter IV, Kelly (Eric) Kent, Andrea (Jason) Krieg, Ashley Felter; six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Johnny (Susan) Suggs and Jack (Marji) Suggs; a sister, Marilyn (Dave) Shriver; and a special sister-in-law, Judy (Merv) Dosh. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, William Felter, III and her brothers, Billy and Bobby Norris. Barbara was a longtime member of Eagles Aerie #299 and a member of the Fairfax Improvement Association. Barbara enjoyed bowling and playing Bunco. At the request of the family, friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
