Harry Whitcomb Obituary

Harry B. Whitcomb Union City Harry B. Whitcomb, 80, passed away on October 8th at his home. He was born March 23, 1929 to Anderson and Vera (Eckert) Whitcomb in Girard Township, Michigan. He attended Union City Schools. On October 24, 1947 he married Rose Marie Schultz in Burlington. He is survived by his wife, Rose of 62 years, a son; Michael (Margie) Whitcomb and daughters; Gayla (Fred) Turgeon, Lori (Mark) Andrews and Tracey (David) Balowski; 9 grand children and 11 great grandchildren, two sisters; Bonnie Thompson and Lois Herman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Vera Whitcomb, a daughter, Melinda Louise and his brother Clifford Whitcomb. His main loves were being with his family, hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring Oliver tractors. He worked for the Arbogast farms for 23 years and Kellogg's for 23 years. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City. Services will be held on October 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Nachtigall officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to CHC Home Health Hospice in lieu of flowers.
