Robert Woods

Robert Woods Albion Robert Woods, 80, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009, at his home. He was born in Prestonsburg, KY on January 27, 1929 to Henry and Mary (Lowe) Woods. On May 1, 1959 he married the former Lorraine Lilly Corey, she preceded him in death on October 28, 2007. Robert came to Michigan in 1953. He worked at Corning Glass Works for 24 years. He also had worked for Hayes Albion, Calhoun County Road Commission and in the coal mines for several years. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener. Survivors include: daughters, Brenda (Todd) Carl of Battle Creek, Barb (Danny) Newsome of Pikeville, KY; sons, Carl (Missey) Woods of David, KY, Henry (Delinda) Woods of Jackson, Bernard Woods of Albion; brother, Willard Woods of Albion; 7 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jess and Earl and 2 sisters, Maybelle and Ednia. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI, 49224 with Carl Woods and Claude Wireman officiating. Interment will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
