Charles Walsh Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Edward Walsh Sr. Battle Creek Charles "Chuck" Edward Walsh Sr., 73, of Battle Creek, died October 10, 2009 at his home. He was born March 9, 1936, the son of Ollie and Elsie May (Heydron) Walsh in Omaha, Nebraska. Chuck entered the U.S. Marine Corps on July 29, 1954 and retired in 1984 attaining the rank of Captain. He then worked for Central Management Corp. for 12 years as a District Supervisor before retiring to travel the country. Chuck is survived by his fiancee Pat Medich of Battle Creek; children, Charles E. Walsh Jr. of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Konrad Baxter Walsh of Winston-Salem and Deborah Rowland of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by sisters, Ada (Harold) Hodges of Mantica, California, Lois Stark of Medford, Oregon; brother, Bob (Jodi) Walsh of Shady Cove, Oregon and sister-in-law, Lita Walsh of Stevensville. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lloyd, Dick and Don. Chuck loved his cat Suzie, golfing and traveling in his R.V. He spent many winters in Mercedes, Texas. He also enjoyed bowling as he was a champion bowler while he was in the Marines; playing his keyboard and dancing. Chuck had three holes-in-one golf shots during his playing days. As per his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan or the American Lung Association.
