Al Madsen Obituary

Al Madsen Battle Creek Al Madsen, 67, of Battle Creek, MI, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his home. He was born September 12, 1942 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Donald Christie and Helen Luella (Robinson) Madsen. Al was a 1961 graduate of Hastings High School where he held first chair for tenor Sax for all four years in the school band. He retired from Post Cereals in 1997 after 37 years. Al is survived by daughter and care giver: Barbara Madsen of Battle Creek, MI; daughter: Carrie (Rick) Ramirez of Charlotte, MI; former spouse and life long friend: Sherry Madsen of Battle Creek, MI; brother: Morris (Sue) Madsen of Battle Creek; granddaughters: Sydney and Aleah Ramirez; and his loving 4 legged companion: Shania. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Beverly Nock and nephew: Christopher Madsen. Al was a member of the Eagle Lodge 299, Moose Lodge 676, NRA and the Post 25 Year Club. He was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, working on cars, bowling and softball as a player and coach. He loved spending time with his granddaughters. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday after 3 p.m. where the family will be present 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Rev. Ronald G. Braxton of New Jerusalem Apostolic Church officiating. Entombment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to American Lung Association or American Heart Association.
