Patricia Mary Hansen

Patricia Mary (Swonk) Hansen Battle Creek Patricia Mary (Swonk) Hansen, 60 of Battle Creek, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Battle Creek Health System. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 12, 1949 to Bernard and Rita (Scanlon) Swonk. Patricia graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1968 and attended Kellogg Community College. Prior to marrying Harvey C. Hansen, Jr. in Battle Creek on September 13, 1979, she worked at the Kellogg Company, Transamerica Insurance Company and as a part-time model for local business advertising agencies. Patricia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to her strong faith and belief in children first, she was passionate for the arts, including stained glass, sketching, sewing (especially Halloween costumes), all forms of music (including her services as Wardrobe Mistress to the Battle Creek Boychoir while her two sons participated), the theater, and all animals (especially her dog Isabeau). Patricia is survived by her husband, Harvey Hansen of Battle Creek; children: Becky Cooper (Tom Deater) of Kalamazoo, Eric Hansen of Center Line, Krista Hansen of St. Joseph and Jon Hansen of Royal Oak; mother, Rita Swonk; and sister, Kathleen Swonk of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Swonk on March 7, 2004. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Eulogy. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev. Craig Lusk officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
