Barbara Chupp Obituary

Barbara Joy Chupp Bellevue Barbara Joy Chupp, 81 of Bellevue, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009. She was born November 17, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Carl McKinley and Lucille (Kaufman) Wenger. Barbara had been a resident of Bellevue since 1960, was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar Society at the church. She had worked at Godde's Bakery from 1943 to 1945, Benjamin Drugs from 1946 to 1947 and Oliver's Manufacturing from 1949 to 1954. She was a member of the D.A.R. and enjoyed traveling, living history reenactment, playing bingo; sewing, crocheting, jig saw puzzles, flower gardening and tea parties with her great-granddaughters. On April 13, 1947 she was married to Howard R. Chupp in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death September 22, 1998. Barbara was also preceded in death by a son: Howard Patrick Chupp in 2003. Surviving are five daughters: Rev. Terry Sue (Larry) Wiliford of Silver Lake, NY, Lucy (Larry) Potter of Bellevue, Patti (Bill) Blanchard of Clarkston, Gail (Tom) Robinson of Bellevue and Laura (Pete) Harris of Charlotte; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and sister: Betty K. Beutler of Tampa, FL. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church with The Rev. Francis Mossholder officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lifespan-Good Samaritan Hospice Services or St. Ann Catholic Church.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I am the daughter of Barbara's cousin, Joyce E (Wenger) Steinman and wish you and your family my deepest sympathy. Mom has been gone over 13 years and Dad just passed away this summer. May you be comforted in knowing she was loved by many.
