David Tagert Obituary

David L. Tagert Battle Creek David Lawrence Tagert, 54, of Battle Creek and formerly Coldwater and Marshall, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday evening November 8, 2009 at his home. He was born May 3, 1955 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Frank William Tagert and Dorothy Rose (Bailey) Tagert. David was the Supervisor for the security department at the Battle Creek Health System for sixteen years until he went on medical leave in July 2009. He was a former police officer in Quincy and had worked for a short time at Quality Farm & Fleet and sold cars. He had worked for Kroger's as a clerk for 4 years in Coldwater. David married the former Susie Ann Downard on April 25, 2008 in Traverse City. MI. Surviving David are his wife: Susie Ann Tagert of Battle Creek; his son: Justin D. Tagert of San Diego, CA; two stepdaughters: Rita M. and Mike Potts of Clayton, MI and Erica L. Pearson of Traverse City, MI; one stepson: Scott D. Pearson of Traverse City, MI; his twin brother and sister-in-law: Daniel and Diane Tagert of Bronson, MI; two grandchildren: Bailey and Caleb Potts of Clayton, MI; and his sister: Kimberly A. and Donald Paul of Muskegon, MI He was preceded in death by his parents. David graduated from Coldwater High School in 1973 where he was involved in playing sports - football and tennis. He had lived in Coldwater and Marshall before coming to Battle Creek in 2007. He participated in many softball, horseshoes, flag-football and golf leagues. David was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers and Michigan State University sports. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday after 9 a.m. where the family will be present from 2- 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services commemorating the life of David L. Tagert will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Heine officiating. Friends and family will meet at 2:00 p.m. Thursday for the burial at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, MI.
