Gary Latshaw Obituary

Gary C. Latshaw January 3, 1949 - November 14, 2009 Gary Latshaw passed away Saturday November 14, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado surrounded by his family. Gary was born to Richard and Della Green Latshaw in Battle Creek, Michigan. Gary continued to live in the area graduating from Pennfield High School before entering the United States Army serving from 1969 - 1972. After returning from the service Gary continued to stay in the Battle Creek area until 1994 when he moved to Grand Junction to be closer to his son and the mountains that he loved spending time in. Gary loved all sports and enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams; the Rockies, Avalanche, and Broncos. He also enjoyed his eagle collection, M&M's, and driving his Greyhound bus on the open road and of course spending time with the loves of his life his granddaughters Tiana and Alyssah. Gary is survived by his life partner; Connie Grattan of Grand Junction, Colorado, mother Della Latshaw of Battle Creek, Michigan, son Aric Latshaw of Grand Junction, Colorado, step sons John and Tyrel Grattan of Grand Junction, Colorado, step daughter Jamie (Jamie) Blackburn of Plattville, Alabama, brothers Fred (Joann) Latshaw, Dennis (Diane) Latshaw, and Roland (Barbara) Latshaw all of Battle Creek, Michigan, 2 granddaughters Tiana and Alyssah Latshaw and 1 step grandson. A Celebration of Gary's life will be held at 11:30 a.m.. on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at Martin Mortuary. Burial will take place Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado where he will be laid to rest with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. A memorial celebration will also be held Saturday, November 28, 1 p.m., Ashton Lake Clubhouse, Battle Creek.
