Alice Geraldine Hreha

Alice Geraldine Hreha Battle Creek Alice Geraldine Hreha, age 76, of Battle Creek, MI, died Tuesday morning, December 8, 2009, at Battle Creek Health Systems. Alice was born on January 30, 1933 in Battle Creek and was the daughter of Estes L. and Dorothy (Richards) Eberhard. She was a 1951 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Alice was employed for over 15 years by the Federal Government as a secretary and computer technician, most recently at the Federal Center, Office of the AFGE, of Battle Creek. She was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants Auxiliary and was the first president of the Battle Creek Chapter. Alice attended St. Philip Catholic Church of Battle Creek and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family and friends. On January 11, 1952 at Fort Custer Chapel, Alice was united in marriage to John W. Hreha and he survives. Also surviving are her three sons, John C. "Chris", Joseph L. (Sherrie) of Carrollton, TX and David W. of Battle Creek; three granddaughters, Krista Brown, Lindsey Lucas and Jami Hreha; three great-grandchildren; and by two brothers, Richard L. (Ann) Eberhard of Jackson, MI and Donald J. (Martha) Eberhard of Kuna, ID. Alice was preceded in death by her parents. The graveside service to celebrate Alice's life will be held on Friday, December 11th at 2:30 pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI, with Father David C. Adams, of Richland, MI, officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice's honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3940 Broadmoor Avenue, SE, Suite 100, Grand Rapids, MI, 49512.
