Mavis Blair Obituary

Mavis Louise Blair Sherwood Mavis Louise Blair, 83, passed away Monday December 14, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born July 9, 1926 in Evanston, Illinois to Albert F. and Maude E. (Church)Marunde. Some of the things that she enjoyed included, gardening, reading and staying up all night watching Emeril Lagosse or Paula Dean on the Food Network Channel. Mavis was an extremely talented artist and many of her works decorate the walls of relative's homes. She took great interest and pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her house was full of love and she had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mavis is survived by her two brothers: Albert (Jane) Marunde on Manistique, MI and Jack (Janet) Marunde of Spaulding, MI, three sons and one daughter; Robert Blair of Sherwood, MI and his children and grandchildren; Sherry (Harold), Anthony, Lamont, Armstrong, Justin, Evan and Dillon, Jarred, Lisa, Jacob, Caleb, Hannah, Makayla, Landon And Emma Blair, Bruce Blair Sr. of Spaulding, MI and his children and grandchildren; Tracy (Russell) Meyer, Dyllon, Brittney, Heather, Rae, Bruce Jr. , Becky, Colyn, Jayden, Brandon and McKenzie, Mason and Evan Blair . Debbie (Blair) Wilson of Athens, MI and her children and grandchildren; Lee Ann (Wilson), Corey, Nolan and Seth Loss, Jeannie (Wilson) and Ben Hawver and Ryan Wilson, Chris Blair of Bronson, MI and his children and grandchildren; Jamie (Blair), Jason and Jayna Klingaman. In her passing she left great impressions with everyone she met and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday December 17, 2009 at Spencer Family Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday December 18, 2009 with Pastor David Mackaluso officiating. Burial at Sherwood Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the Athens V.F.W. Post 5319.
