I am David's cousin from Northern Ireland and having lost touch with the family have just found out about his passing. I always remember as children playing and running around our Grandfather's house in Belfast, apparently I always kicked him and then he would inevitably get the blame. David was six years older than myself and my most vivid memory is of him studying for exams, then he went off to University. I always remember him teaching my younger Brother to play chess and how kind and patient he was. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, I will always remember David as a kind gentle soul. God Bless.

I shared an office with David Thompson at LCC this past semester. In the short time that I knew him, I saw him as a kind and decent person. My condolences got out to his friends and family.

I knew David for a very short time, but he touched my life in such a way, and at such an important time, that I will never forget him! I hope to be at the service Monday, and get to meet his lovely girls that he always talked about...

Please accept our deepest sympathies. My husband and I did not know Dr. Thompson but we called 911 after coming up on the accident the other night. We felt helpless and wish we could have done more. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all family members and friends of Dr. Thompson. God bless.

David was a colleague of mine at LCC -- just a decent, kind and gentle person, and a quiet support. I'll miss him a lot.
