Mamie R. Florence Battle Creek Mamie R. Florence, 83, died Thursday December 17, 2009, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Lister (Katie) Florence, Barbara Louise (Albert) Glass, Pearlie Mae (Leotis) McNutt, Ethel (Elisha) Glass, Chester Thomas (Rose) Florence, Irene (Albert) Jackson, Kevan David Florence; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; along with a host of friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and brother Elisha. Funeral Services 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, S.D.B. Ethel (& family) let your memories give you COMFORT at this time of grief and emptiness, and have the joy that she is now resting in peace this Christmas as she wanted.

It doesn't matter how old we are, we will ALWAYS need our mother...you never get over that emptiness in your heart. It knocks you down, and you eventually get back up (each in his own time) and keep on living.... as our mothers have taught us to do!
