Brenda L. Holcomb

Brenda L. Holcomb Climax Brenda L. Holcomb, 58, passed away Wednesday, December 16th in Kalamazoo. She was born November 4th, 1951, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Walter Holcomb and Elaine Earl. Brenda was a 1970 graduate of Climax-Scotts High School. She was employed by Kmart in Battle Creek and recently by the Kalamazoo Nature Center. She had a wide variety of interests, which included basket weaving, stained glass and collecting antiques. Brenda was also very active in her church, Life In Christ Ministries, where she enjoyed the fellowship of performing community out-reach at area nursing homes. Her daughter Sara Scramlin preceded her in death. Brenda is survived by: her son Phillip D. Scramlin of Climax, her father Walter Holcomb of Ludington, her mother Elaine Earl of Kalamazoo, her brother Richard (Jeri) Holcomb of Parchment, her sister Jill Minidis of Ludington and several nieces and nephews. Brenda was a very devoted mother. Her faith, her son, Phillip, and her lighthearted attitude toward life allowed her to face many challenges with strength and determination. She will be missed. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 20th at Life In Christ Ministries on 14990 Beadle Lake Road, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Dr. Dan Martineau, presiding. Cremation and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Brenda's name may be made to Life In Christ Ministries Building Fund.
