Dear Jon, Greg and families,
I was so saddened to hear of your mother's passing last week. I am in Florida, so I won't be able to be there for her memorial.
I was always proud to call Meg my DKG sister. She was also my colleague at Lakeview Schools as we both taught there. She has been my idol as she grew older because I never saw her anywhere when she wasn't full of vim and vigor; such vitality!!! Her voice was beautiful as she led us in singing our special songs at DKG. Your mom joined Delta Kappa Gamma in 1976 and was a constant source of positive energy for all of us.
Since learning of her passing, I have said many prayers for her and for your families. She was truly a VERY special lady, friend and colleague! We will all miss her...
Love to you all,
Pat Peterson

Dear Jon and Greg, if I weren't in California right now, I would be there saying goodby to my dear friend Meg. I knew her before she married your Dad. Shortly after that she joined our two table bridge club. The 8-9 of us didn't just play bridge, we went on shopping and show trips, went through marriages and divorces, babies, etc. When Jack and Cliff were in business together, the four of us went to Europe together on a business trip and had a great time. Meg and I went to New York together after 9/11, saw a couple of shows, inc. "Mama Mia", visited the 9/11 site and had fun. We were always good friends, but became even closer after your Dad passed away and I got my divorce. We called each other once a month and while I am in Battle Creek for 2-3 months each summer, we always got together 1-2 times a week: lunch, dinner, movie or just for a glass of wine and chat. Sometimes our only remaining Battle Creek bridgie Ruth Sawyer would join us and we'd find a fourth for a little bridge (often Ruth's husband Carroll would fill in). I can't tell you how much my heart and I are going to miss my dear Meg.

I am so sad to hear of your Mom's passing. I stopped by to see her just a week ago. I am still in disbelief. Your Mom was such a good friend to my mother through the years and to me. I will miss her. I'm pretty sure they have a foursome up there now for a bridge game.

I am so saddened to hear of my dear friend Meg's passing. And I miss her terribly. She was a dear, dear friend for 50 years. And a wonderful, wonderful, bridge partner. We all loved her cheerful spirit, her fabulous cooking and her many helpful ways. She was a true friend to all of us. God Bless her.

Your mother was my music teacher in the 5th grade at Territorial School and your Father was my first band director. I went on to become a band director and became goods friends with both. Mom was a great lady and she will be greatly missed, but always in our thoughts.

My aunt, June Gorman Minter, introduced Meg and Jack and encouraged their relationship. Jack was my high school band teacher and Meg and Jack became good friends of my parents, Clif and Roberta Beaver. Meg hosted a bridal shower for me in 1955 and remained a wonderful role model for me even though we saw each other rarely.

Meg helped me to develop a love for music at a very young age. She was my music teacher at Prairieview Elementary School. I loved her music class as she loved sharing the music with her students.
I will always cherish the memories of her music class.

Meg was a beautiful soul, a kind and caring aunt. She managed to carry a lovely melody in even her conversational voice that was uplifting and endearing. Her smile radiated an inner joy, which seemed to shield her from life's challenges. Eager to laugh, gracious, and compassionate, Meg's gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

I fondly remember Meg both as my junior high school music teacher and later as a teaching colleague in the Lakeview Schools. We both attended the Congregational Church and met as friends at Delta Kappa Gamma meetings.
Such a lovely lady. What an infectious
laugh
