All I can say is, I so miss that strong willed lady with such a huge, gentle heart. She was here for the animals and what dedication she put into it with great compassion!

Gerda was a loving friend and I miss her presence. The animals miss her as well...she was their angel. I know she was truly stubborn, that was her strong personality and it was due to her strength and courage that sooooo many innocent voiceless creatures survived.

Gerda taught me many ropes in trapping feral cats to spay/neuter and I have known her to go into the worst part of town in the dark to rescue kittens with or without a momma cat.She had no fear when it came to saving animals. Her legend will long live on and she will be missed. I am proud to say I have one of her cats at my home. She was happy when I took the cat to visit her. She will be greatly missed and long remembered. She did a world of good and was a blessing.

You are all in our hearts, prayers and thoughts. Besides being a diligent voice for the voiceless animals, Gerda gave her all for homeless animals. She was a caring and compassionate being. Gerda and I worked together along with Mary Sine in a Pennfield Middle School group called Earth Friends. Gerda educated the students about the importance of neuter and spaying dogs and cats.
Her spirit will always be in our hearts.
She is across that Heavenly Rainbow Bridge with all of our loved animals. Peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. I have many fond memories of the Barz family from days gone by. Time passes so quickly, we must all try to remember that and make the most of every moment like it sounds Gerda did!
